ED and AD

Here is the explanation regarding e and ed

e- and
ed is used before two vowels.

Il piatto e' sul tavolo ed e' blue
Il ragazzo e' alto e ha i capelli neri

In addition, when a preposition precede a vowel ad is used

Ad agosto, vado in Italia.
In August I'm going to Italy
Ad ogni costo
At any cost
ad esempio
for example
continuare ad andare
keep going
